Community Involvement
A Caring Community Partner
Baird has a long tradition of giving back in the communities where our associates live and work, and many give generously of their time, talents and personal resources to local organizations. Our associates also support annual firm level campaigns to raise funds for local and national charities. And our Baird Foundation provides financial support for causes ranging from fighting homelessness and hunger to promoting education and the arts.
Other ways Baird supports associates’ passion for giving back include Baird Gives Back Week; an event encouraging associates to team up in their communities and volunteer in a range of activities, including tutoring students, working with seniors, building homes and cleaning up parks.
Wright Way Rescue
Wright-Way Rescue has been a pioneer in the field of animal welfare for over 19 years when we began rescuing homeless animals from underserved, rural areas and finding them loving forever homes.
Northern IL Food Bank
The Northern IL Food Bank works with over 900 food pantries, mobile food truck markets, and soup kitchens who distribute perishable and non perishable foods that you can choose from based on your dietary needs.
Misericordia Heart of Mercy
The Mission of Misericordia is to provide a continuum of care and support for children and adults of all faiths and cultures who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Baird Winnetka is a long standing supporter of Misericordia Heart of Mercy. We’ve spent many hours volunteering on site as well as through their Candy Days each spring.
Winnetka Music Festival
Baird is proud to support the Winnetka Music Festival as it celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026! Since its founding in 2017, this homegrown summer festival has grown into a signature community event, bringing exceptional live music, vibrant energy, and local spirit to Downtown Winnetka on Chicago’s beautiful North Shore. We’re honored to help champion an experience that brings neighbors together, showcases incredible talent, and strengthens the community we call home.
Cristo Rey St.Martin College Prep

Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, integrated with relevant work study experience, Cristo Rey St. Martin students graduate ready to succeed in college and life.
Paul Purcell "Kids Win!" Annual Baird Education Grant
In addition to being one of the most influential leaders in Baird's history, Paul Purcell was passionate about education and ensuring all children can access the knowledge and tools necessary to build better futures. In his memory, we've established the Paul Purcell "Kids Win!" Annual Baird Education Grant to benefit qualified nonprofit educational organizations that share this passion and purpose.
A Closer Look at Baird Gives Back
Each Baird employee is given the opportunity to take up to one paid day each year to volunteer in the community. The program is designed to encourage employees to provide volunteer service to a nonprofit organization of their choice.
Additionally, Baird employees take part in the annual “Baird Gives Back Week.” During this week, Baird provides its employees with paid hours to volunteer at Baird’s selected nonprofit organization.
This year:
- In 2023, associates donated nearly 8,000 volunteer hours to help support non-profit organizations and individuals across the firm's global footprint.
- From May 15-20, more than 2,300 volunteers from over 100 Baird offices in cities such as Milwaukee, Louisville, Frankfurt, Chicago, Sarasota, London, Pittsburgh and many more participated in Baird Gives Back week.
- Associates helped with community-bettering projects, such as preparing and serving food, tutoring and mentoring students, walking and playing with shelter animals, working with seniors and cleaning up parks, riverbeds, gardens, and more.
